Description
Up for bid here is an original 1971 LP from The Rolling Stones entitled, "STICKY FINGERS" cat# COC 59100... as mentioned above, This is a rare 1st series Canada/Warner Bros. press album with the working zipper in the front cover and the Andy Warhol stamp inside(see pics). The zipper seems to be missing part of it’s “tab”, but otherwise looks OK.. Vinyl has decent gloss with clean labels, VG+, with “hairlines” and light scuffs. Cover is VG, has evidence it and the inner sleeve were subject to moisture at some time, record is fine..
*Played this all the way through..wow this is the best version/mix of this LP I’ve ever heard..the punchy, raw sound comes through loud & clear, much like an “RL” pressing of Led Zep II…there is some light static during the quieter parts that you can hear, but seriously this was a “party record” back in the day and was used as such because it sounds so good..
Found this on “Discogs” relating to these first Canadian pressings:
"Hi, imo this is the true first Canadian pressing. It was pressed for the first 2 weeks of the albums release then was switched to Kinney Music Of Canada.
Therefore first off the press was the Warner Bros Label then the Kinney Music. And thats why this press sounds so damn good." and: "This pressing is worth seeking out. Sounds amazing. Look for manufactured by Warner Brothers."
