Celebrities Recording Company of Hollywood, California, no #, by Rudolph Valentino: Kashmiri Song (In English) b/w El Relicario (In Spanish). As stated on the label:....Recorded at the Brunswick Recording Laboratories, New York, May 14th, 1923..... This 78 is the only commercial sound recording that Rudolph Valentino made. At the beginning of both sides a stentorian announcer recites the the information on the label..... Clean picture labels with a red price sticker from Crowley Milner Co. on one side. Shellac is very clean; very little wear. There is a pressing indentation about the size of a mans thumb print on one side, and on the reverse in the same place, a raised relief thumb sized outline mark.The indentation side plays with a muffled thump throughout the indentation. The side with the raised thumb size mark thumps lightly for about a dozen revolutions. Both sides also have a sort of pitted pressing defect area, between the indentation and the label.This does not sound on either side. This being a 1923 pressing, there is built in hiss, but over all the vocal is loud and clear for an acoustical recording. Grade E-, or VG+ if a vinyl grade. Very nice copy of an extremely rare 78 by an early 1920's Hollywood icon. The buyer must be completely satisfied or I will refund your purchase price plus postage both ways.
