UNIQUE is often misused to describe something that sellers think is rare or unusual. ?Unique? means one-of-a kind and this set of EIGHT 12? double sided uncoated embossed aluminum disks might very well be the only original extant version of recordings of this radio broadcast.. Recorded off of a telephone line linking New York?s WEAF to Edwin Strong?s recording studio in Jackson Heights (Queens), NYC these contain about 57 out of the 60 minutes that comprised the broadcast. The quality is significantly better than what would have been from an off-the-air recording. It represents state of the art instantaneous recording / playback at that time. It could only have been better if mastered in wax and then plated and pressed, or recorded on 35mm optical film. The commercials were not recorded, which accounts for most of the missing 3 minutes of material. The guest include Harold Van Duzee (singing Laugh Clown Laugh); Joe Penner; Pops and Louie (an excellent black child act); and Helen Hayes in ?The Little Minister? by James M. Barrie. Thankfully, before these disks were given to me by Rudy in 1972, they had NOT been played with steel needles or otherwise mishandled. The ungrooved portions retain their near mirror-quality reflective clarity. Rudy and Eleanor Vallee were gracious hosts to my wife and me for our first anniversary that summer.

The eight disks will be bundled super-protectively in a thick cardboard sandwich and floated amongst foam chips or bubble wrap. Within the USA I?ll ship as per your choice: Priority or Media Rate. I?ll ship with or without insurance, also at your choice. If you elect not to insure, then you will bear all responsibility for damage and or loss. You?ll be charged actual shipping costs PLUS $5 for my time, effort and expenses of obtaining packing materials. The $5 is per package, NOT per 12? set. Multiple 12? sets discs in one box have one applicable $5 surcharge. Note that I do not pack and weigh any item unless and until it's been sold.
