HABIBI / HABIBI (instrumental samba version) ... 33rpm, 12" DISCO MIX by SAHARA BAND vocals by GIORDY aka ELISABETTA MARINA Di GIORGIO. Original Italian pressing on LCA RECORDS label (LCA 5002), from 1983. Eccentric and ultra-infectious Italo disco with proto house and exotic middle-eastern motifs. Mixed / produced and arranged by Arcangelo Li Calzi. Balearic synth pop cum Arabian electro for club kidz on the brilliant HABIBI theme with cute lead vocals in Arabic / Italian and broken English by cult singer, Giordy. Trance inducing rhythms with thumping drum programming switching from boom bap and hissing 4/4 house tempo hi-hats to obsessive synthesizer solos and old skool style disco breaks with funky basslines. Currently en vogue after being comped by Parisien taste-makers, Guido Minisky and Hervé Carvalho aka Acid Arab on their "Oriental Disco" selection ;) The B-side version is an electro samba dub with funky Brazilian guitar a la Giulio Camarca & Trinidad / latin percussion breaks and lots more of those crazy Arabian synth hooks. Great for DJs with super-loud production sound. Obvious crossover appeal for cosmic jazz / Brazilian / ethnic and world music lovers. Striking artwork sleeve showing a futuristic '80s fashion take on Egyptian and pop art imagery. Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall with a few hairlines and faint scuffs from sleeve removal / storage (mostly to inner deadwax area). Some light surface noises. A few soft pops to fading outro of the "Instrumental Samba version" side (as you can hear on our soundclip). The soft card picture sleeve is in VG++ condition overall regardless of any light general wear from storage. Some ring creasing / ring dirt marks and corner wear. Some mini crease lines to spine side. Some dirt blemishes. Deletion punch hole to front bottom right corner. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Rare 12" disco mix!!!
