Description
This is another sale from my collection of classical records, which includes early stereo rarities on Decca, Columbia, HMV and RCA.
Recording first published 1961 of Uk Columbia SAX 2367 blue/silver label Richard Strauss Don Juan, Dance of the Seven Veils from “Salome”, Till Eulenspiegel played by the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Klemperer. Sleeve is a flip back (with "s" arrows to the spine). The matrix numbers engraved on the run-out are YAX 558-5 and YAX 557-3. There is a W tax code on the label above the spindle hole on side 1.
Grading
Would visually grade record Excellent. It plays on my Linn Sondek with no skips or jumps. Side 1 plays well, side 2 very crackly at start and has a few pops mid way through. Sleeve is Excellent, parts of laminate slightly lifted on edge at opening, rear sleeve has darkened with age. Inner sleeve is excellent, again discolouration through ageing.
Note that record will be posted in a cardboard record mailer. Sleeve will be in a plastic sleeve, separate from the record and inner sleeve. Record and inner sleeve will be in a card sleeve.
