Description

    This is a very rare box set of Giulini's interpretation of "The Marriage Of Figaro". It is not perfect so I'll go through the imperfections with you which are as follows :
RECORD 1, TICKS : There are light ticks on SIDE 1 at : 6.25, 7.55 & at 22.15 just as the music ends. On SIDE 2 there are light ticks at 8.05 & 12.10. 
SURFACE NOISE, STATIC POPS : SIDE 1 has approximately 10 static pops at various points during play. SIDE 2 has approximately 11 static pops at various points. Surface noise is prominent during the first 30 seconds & increases between 17.55 & 19.15 of SIDE 2 (programme material is loud at this point).
VISUAL : Both sides have many hairline scratches & very minor scuffing visible.
RECORD 2, TICKS : SIDE 3 has a light tick at 5.50. SIDE 4 has light ticks at 18.05 & 21.10. 
SURFACE NOISE, STATIC POPS :  During SIDE 3 there are approximately 4 static pops during play, During SIDE 4 approximately 5. 
VISUAL : Both sides have a few hairline scratches & feint scuffs visible under strong light.
RECORD 3, TICKS : During SIDE 5 there is a light tick at 3.50, 2 medium ticks at 5.00, a light tick at 15.15, 2 medium ticks & 3 loud ticks at 16.50 just as the programme material is drawing to a close. SIDE 6, there is a light tick at 10.10.   SURFACE NOISE, STATIC POPS : There are approximately 6 static pops during SIDE 5 & 4 during SIDE 6. Surface noise is rather prominent during the first 30 seconds of SIDE 5.
VISUAL : Both sides show feint scratching under strong light.
RECORD 4, TICKS : There is a light tick on SIDE 7 at 2.45.
SURFACE NOISE, STATIC POPS : There are approximately 5 pops during SIDE 7 & 1 during SIDE 8. There is a burst of hiss between 10.15 & 10.20 of SIDE 7.
VISUAL : SIDE 7 has numerous feint scratches visible under strong light. SIDE 8 appears excellent.
   The box is in good condition. There is a neat split down the bottom left corner of the front of the boxes' spine (see photo). It would be possible to repair this but I'll leave this up to you. Includes libretto, insert & original dust sleeves. I don't know how much this record will sell for but buyers should be advised that postage prices only include insurance up to £41. If you win this auction please contact me to arrange extra insurance if necessary. I think I have managed to pack this item to the point where it shouldn't incur damage in the post but there is always the possibility that it may be lost.     I will only send this Recorded Delivery within the UK & International Signed For for everywhere else.
