SECRET ITALIAN PSYCH FUNK BOMB!
GIALLO OST COVER UP
OK, what we have here is a very special slice of the heaviest, organ soaked, fuzz driven sleaze, an utterly unbelievable, evil sounding Giallo score covered up here by the pseudonymous Red Blood out of Italy, who cut an obscure covers LP which, incidentally, this does not feature on! This track is actually by the legendary soundtrack composer Claudio Tallino, who recorded it to accompany an ultra obscure underground Horror movie, circa 1973. As you might guess, this incredible score, or indeed the track never received a legitimate release making this the only way to obtain this evil sounding groove monster!
The reason why this is so good is simple: the sound is stripped down and raw. Unmistakably Italian, this crawls with a deeply sinister Giallo vibe. Church bells introduce the track before mingling with eery electronic effects before the sleaziest rhythm explodes, led by one of the most evil sounding, acid soaked Hammond grooves, all over the massively loud and crunchy drumbreak. The most sinister fuzz leads slice their way thru this satanic groove before the typical Giallo flute section glides in adding up to a mightily dark and funky ride. The sound is pure dark funk, reminding me of that heavy Wakehvitch 45 or something Gianni Mazza did on one of his RRC outings, or indeed the evil grooves on that Fillipi library on Fonit.
Easilly one of the heaviest and nastiest examples of Italian soundtrack scores and totally impossible to own unless you get it here!
