SHARON WHITBREAD AND FRED variety is the Spice of Life vinyl LP RA RECORDS RALP 6011st 1972
A Rare Album from the Tiny RA label based in West Devon (Torbay) A fine recording from the youthful Sharon Whitbread who was just under 16 when most of this was recorded
with Fred ( A.D Hext) being 17 ... 12 Tracks including Covers of Bert Jansch, Patrick Sky, Ewan MacColl etc with some original material Reflections is ,in particular a track that attracts Acid Folk enthusiasts ( there are clips on You Tube that will give you a taster ) Sharon Whitbread is a very impressive vocalist with an unusual vibratto - A sort of cross between Sandy Denny and Buffy St. Marie)
The track Lazeras is backed by fellow RA recording Artists Faraway Folk .
Sharon Whitbread and Fred went on to make a single for EMI in 1973
Glen Turner plays some guitar on this album ,who along with his brother Martin Turner formed Wishbone Ash in 1969
This is a rare album , with easily less than 500 pressed and may be as low as 99 which could put it in the private Pressing Category ...
CONDITION
Sleeve - Just under Excellent - Some mild signs of wear at Edges and corners - a few very faint wear marks on rear sleeve
Vinyl - Just Under EXCELLENT Side Two has A light surface mark across track two - there are some very mild crackles at start of side one with
just occasional soft tics in the quietest passages as you might expect from a 43 year old lp
You will be pleased to learn there is no reserve and a lowish starting price
