Description
This is the very first Direct To Disc album by Lincoln Mayorga (Sheffield S-9). It was done way back in 1968 as something of an experiment, and as such; was done in very small qualities of less than 1000, which is why it is so rare now over40 years later. It was sent out to Stereo stores, and was an immediate hit as a demo record because nobody had ever made a recording that was this dynamic before. It is literally the very first modern day audiophile recording. It made people realize that recordings could sound much better than what the major labels were putting out, and it created a whole new "Audiophile" industry of Direct Disc, Half Speed, DBX and digital recordings. It is truly a piece of music history. ---------- The record is in great condition with just one tiny 1/4" scratch at the outer rim on side 1. There are no spindle marks on the labels. The jacket is nice with no splits. It shows some ring wear and some corner dents. There is someone's first name written on the back. ****** Please see my other ads for more important audiophile items including MFSL half speed LP's and gold cd's. Combine to save on shipping.
