Rare, original 1982 U.S. pressing of the classic Malaco album
from excellent Southern Funk/Soul ensemble 

Original, vinyl copies of this Funk/Soul gem are very scarce
 - This copy is in excellent condition!

Sho-nuff may have been the best of all the Southern soul and funk ensembles that emerged on Malaco in the late '70s and '80s. They had previously released an album, "From The Gut To The Butt" on Stax in 1978 and briefly seemed as if they would recreate some of the excitement that the Bar-Kays had generated, but it was not to be. Following their departure from Stax, they were picked up by Malaco and an album, "Tonite" was released in 1980.

"Stand Up For Love" was their 2nd and final album for Malaco and features some nice group vocals, decent production, and a couple of strong soul ballads; but the highlight of this, hard-to-find album, is the wonderful "Sho-Nuff Groove - with it's lazy, almost p-funky groove, featuring jazzy trumpet from Edward Sims and less-is-more, backing from the legendary Muscle Shoals Horns. The track is also memorable for it's, idiosyncratic, percussion track, which features Leroy Emmanuel on Synthespoons (!)

Sadly, Sho-Nuff never managed to generate anything more than a mild buzz among Southern soul fans and following a 3rd and final album "Body Pressure" on Constellation, in 1983, they were gone forever.

Visual condition: The disc is in better-than-excellent condition, with no scuffs or scratches and just a few, light, surface marks from inner-sleeve wear.
Audible condition: Sound is bright and clear with no pops or clicks at all and no distortion or background noise.

Sleeve:
Condition: The sleeve is in excellent condition; stiff and flat, with no bends or tears and only one or two, light, surface marks and creases. Square corners, perfect edges, top & bottom, a rigid, undamaged spine, with all text clearly visible and showing only minor wear for it's age (35 years).
