Description
SIMON AND GARFUNKEL, Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme, early issue UK CBS stereo 1966 LP.
62860, early 1966 UK Orange stereo CBS record labels.
An early 1966 UK stereo copy in original condition, featuring:
1. an original first issue UK stereo ‘flip back’ sleeve, ie the rear of the sleeve features three ‘fold over’ edges. Only a small number of these ‘flip back’ sleeves were made before the ‘flip back’ design was no longer used,
2. original first issue UK record matrix of, SBPG 62860 A1 and SBPG 62860 B1,
3. on the rear of the sleeve there is an original CBS 'stereo sticker',
4. the record labels / record feature a more unusual 'outer edge ridge', seen near to the outer edge of the record labels,
5. early 1966 UK CBS mono, Orange ‘textured’ and ‘ridged’ record labels,
6. an original 1966 UK stereo record, made of the period quality, ‘thick heavy’ vinyl,
7. comes with its original period, UK ‘CBS’ advertising inner sleeve.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated, an excellent quality glossy un spoilt laminate. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained clean and sharp. The spine is in excellent+ condition and has remained clean white and straight and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve features the original UK, tri ‘flip back’ design, ie ‘fold over’ edges. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers, sticker residue to the sleeve. On the rear of the sleeve, to the top left, there is a small set of initials written in pencil.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original period UK ‘CBS’ Orange advertising inner sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, stickers or sticker residue to the inner sleeve. There is a split to one of the side edges and two 10mm tears on the rear, around the 'die cut hole'.
THE RECORD: side one is in very good++ condition, side two is in excellent condition. The record is made from the period 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained very dark and glossy.
The records matrix is: side one – SBPG 62860 A1, also the numbers / letters of, ‘ A 2 8 A’, I think it is, is engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove. Side two - SBPG 62860 B1, also the numbers / letters of, ‘ A 29’, I think it is, is engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove,
THE AUDIO: side one, I did hear some light 'ticks' at the end for track two and some light 'ticks' on track three, so I will grade this as very good+, otherwise the rest of side one plays excellent+, with excellent quiet grooves. Side two plays excellent++ with excellent quiet grooves, a near perfect audio. The record plays with a full powerful, period stereo sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE RECORD LABELS: side one is in excellent+ condition, side two is in excellent condition. Each of the record labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
