SIMON AND GARFUNKEL, Sound of Silence, second UK CBS mono issue 1965 LP.

62690, early 1965 UK Orange mono CBS record labels.

A second issue 1965 UK mono copy in original condition, featuring:

1. a second issue UK mono sleeve made by, 'E J Day', made of the period 'quality, thicker card',

2. these second issue mono sleeves featured 'additional text' printed on the rear, of, 'Recorded in the USA by CBS, a division of Columbia broadcasting system Inc',

3. as this is an early UK mono sleeve, there is no 'stereo box' information printed on the rear, lower edge,

4. an original 1965 UK mono record, made of the period quality, ‘thick heavy’ vinyl,

5. original 1965 UK CBS mono, Orange ‘textured’ and ‘ridged’ record labels,

6. comes with its original period, UK ‘CBS’ advertising inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. An excellent un spoilt glossy quality laminate. The two opening edges have remained clean and sharp. The spine is in very good++ condition and most of the text on the spine is readable. There are NO tears, splits, stickers, sticker residue to the sleeve. There is small name written in blue pen on the rear, to the top left and the word 'MONO' is written in blue pen on the rear, underneath the CBS box logo.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original period UK ‘CBS’ Orange advertising inner sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, stickers or sticker residue to the inner sleeve. There is a 10mm tear to the front / left opening edge and a 15mm split to the top, front right edge.

THE RECORD: side one is in excellent condition, side two is in excellent++ condition. The record is made from the period 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained very dark and glossy.

The records matrix is: side one – 62690 A5, also the numbers / letters of, ‘1 C’, I think it is, is engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove. Side two - 62690 B4 also the letter of, ‘V’, I think it is, is engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove,

THE AUDIO: each side of the record plays excellent, each side plays with some light 'crackle'. The record plays with a full powerful, period mono sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE RECORD LABELS: side one is in excellent++ condition, side one has a small set of initials written in black pen. Side two is in excellent+ condition. Each of the record labels are free from any stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING - ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION. BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVE, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
