THE FAYETTEVILLE MANLIUS ROCK ENSEMBLE: Simon Sez (a Rock Opera by Tom Hayes) (Silver Crest FM 43072/1972)
Double LP pressed by noted New York vanity label. My review in The Acid Archives (for which this copy was used) describes this best:
Double album rock opera with a 60s them of non-conformity and searching for meaning. The opera was composed by one Tom Hayes, who lived in Onandaga County in mid-western upstate New York. There is an ensemble of singers performing the various roles and acting as a chorus. They are backed by a chamber ensemble of reeds, brass and strings along with acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, bass and drums.
The music is an eclectic mix of pop and rock styles from ballads to full-blown rockers. There really aren’t any psychedelic elements however. There is some spoken narrative. The selections are primarily vocal, but occasional instrumental breaks occur.
The overall feel is amateur, but done with great competence, particularly with the male and female vocalists. Sorry, but no Innkeeper types here (See Lemieux and Peters). (And see my auction for that.)
The cover is VG+ (light ringwear front & back; some dirty spots inside gatefold; 1/2" split on top back seam; couple of tiny spots of cardboard on bottom seams).
The first record is VG+ (moderate amount of light scuff marks on each side; intermittent light crackling; one song on the second side has a few light clicks). The second record looks VG+ (some light scuffing, less and lighter than the first side), plays Ex (intermittent light crackling on the first few tracks on side 3).

GENERAL INFO
SHIPPING: Shipping costs will be quoted based on cost for estimated weight plus $1.00 to cover most of the cost of packing materials.
All records are packed in in between two cardboard filler pads and shipped in professional cardboard mailing boxes. All unsealed 12" records are taken out of their covers to prevent seam splitting. If there is a custom inner sleeve, the record will be put in a separate white inner. If a 7" record comes in a picture sleeve, the same procedure is followed.
GRADING: I grade records both visually and audibly. As grading is so imprecise and subjective, I don't have a set grading description like you see listed in many auction and collector magazines. My grades for records and covers are based on the overall conditions I describe in each auction; I will note any visual defects and (for the vinyl) any non-musical sounds (pops, clicks, skips, etc.).
