“VIEJO, NUEVO, PRESTADO Y AZUL”
(OLD NEW BORROWED AND BLUE)
WOW!!! MEGARARE original Polydor Records very first PROMOTIONAL SAMPLE STAMPED STEREO press released in Chile in 1974 by Polydor Records, made and distributed by Discos Philips (Philips Records), licensed from the Deutsche Grammophon GES., Polydor Germany, with orange/black Polydor Records labels, catalog number 2383 261, with hand etched matrix numbers 2383 261-A C.D./A.G. in Side 1 and 2383 261-B C.D./A.G. in Side 2. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!
“OLD NEW BORROWED AND BLUE” was originally released in February 1974 and we didn’t had to wait much to see this third studio album by Slade released here in Chile, because the same year, 1974, we could hear and enjoy this successful album and like in so many cases of the period we got it with an UNIQUE COVER!!! Cover is made of an only piece of thin cardboard folded in the middle, so 3 sides are open, faking a gatefold cover and kept together for an outer plastic bag. In Chile, as you can see in the pictures, we got an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE!!! WOW!!! Front cover artwork shows a photo of the band with only the name of the band, SLADE, at top right corner with the Polydor Records logo at bottom right corner and if you know the Slade discography you could already noticed that in Chile they used the cover of the compilation album “Sladest”, released in 1973 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sladest)!!! Back cover is also totally different, with the album title and tracklist written only in Spanish, with full credits for songwriters and timing of each song. In labels the album title and tracklist are also written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters. WOW!!! INCREDIBLE FIND and WHAT A GREAT CONDITION!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great EX- or EX condition, clear and clean, light ring marks, no writings, no blemishes, only some wear in all the edges, more evident in corners and the mouth edge, with faint creases and little rips, some age browning in back cover, and the SAMPLE STAMP “DISCO DE MUESTRA PROHIBIDA SU VENTA” (SAMPLE RECORD SALE FORBIDDEN) near to the mouth edge. The record is in superb EX or EX+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with minimal scuffs and light hairlines, and some occasional scratches hard to see, which of course don’t affect sound at all. Label is in absolute EX+ or NM- condition both sides, clean and clear, with minimal spindle hole wear and the SAMPLE STAMP in Side A. The sound is in absolute EX or EX+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), no pops, no clicks, only minimal occasional soft crackles, mostly evident in the silent parts, which of course don’t cause any distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end, most of songs play in absolute NM condition. Overall a great record with still a glossy look and superb sound quality after 39 years!!! And keep in mind this record has an UNIQUE COVER with UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE only used here in Chile and it’s SAMPLE STAMPED!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!! WOW!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.
Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…
Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile
_________________________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
IMPORTANT TO READ
