Description
For auction is a near mint copy of SLS 822, a nine record LP set of Vaughn Williams' Symphonies, conducted by Sir Adrian Boult and played by the London Philharmonic Orchestra or the New Philharmonia Orchestra. This is a famous set of recordings, probably the definitive cycle of Vaugh Williams' nine symphonies. This set is on the Absolute Sound magazine list, under special merit for classical recordings. This set is near mint. The nine LPs appear flawless and are near mint or better. The notes are mint. The box is very good, with a clean cover but some storage wear on the corners. This is a beautiful set. These sets are increasingly rare and difficult to find.
This set comes from the collection of an elderly audiophile in my family. This set has been in storage for the last 15 years and was played on a Linn Sondek LP12 before that. The owner of this set took meticulous care of all his albums and that is reflected in the condition of this album. The collection from which I am selling this set is over 1300 albums and I have sold roughly 600 to date (to private parties, no via ebay) , without a single complaint. Indeed, the purchasers of this collection has thus far been delighted with these albums. I rate albums conservatively and do not remotely exaggerate their condition.

I pack carefully and ship fast. I ship albums in special LP shipping cartons. I will combine shipping costs if other items are purchased.
Shipping in the US is via US Media Mail. Shipping to other countries is the actual cost of shipping along with a $1 fee to cover the cost of the shipping carton and packing supplies. I absorb the cost of insurance on any album over $50.
Payment is via Paypal only. I expect payment within 12 hours of the completion of an auction and will offer items to secondary bidders if payment is not received within 24 hours. I use Paypal because it speeds transactions and allows me to ship quickly.
Note for International Buyers: I ship only to countries specified. I always report items accurately on customs paperwork. I will make every effort to combine shipping costs for buyers of multiple items. I will ship to you cheaply and efficiently as possible. Thank you.
