Description

SOMETHIN' ELSE - Julian "Cannonball" Adderley (alto sax), Miles Davis (trumpet), Hank Jones (piano), Sam Jones (bass), Art Blakey (drums) - 1958 Blue Note BLP-1595 mono lp  (RVG in dead wax, ear symbol in deadwax,  43 West 61 St., New York 23 address on back, deep groove). The vinyl shows good sheen with very nice lables. The record tracks very well and sounds great with some light background static noticeable occassionally. It is a very dynamic recording. I did not hear any pop or ticks on the first side, the second side had three extremely light ticks (hardly noticeable).  I would audibly grade the vinyl as being in VG+++ condition. I would visually grade it the same.   There are a couple of extremely light short scuffs visible with good lighting and scrutiny which cannot be felt and do not detract from playback. The jacket is extremely nice, my picture canot due it justice. I have the jacket sitting on a plastic protective sleeve, you may see the edges of this in the picture. This is not rough edges on the the record jacket seams.  There are no splits, writing, tears, holes, stains, ringware etc. There is a a slightly rounded corner on the lower left hand. The back is very clean. I would grade the jacket as being in VG+++ condition.  The songtitles include: AUTUMN LEAVES * LOVE FOR SALE * SOMETHIN' ELSE * ONE FOR DADDY-O * DANCING IN THE DARK. This is an extra nice copy that was acquired from a one owner collection. I really scrutinized this record to try to ensure your satisfaction - I don't think there will be any dissapointments.I will be listing some more pieces later this week. I will have a few more very clean early Blue Note jazz pieces so check back.
