Description
STEELY DAN "AJA" Original 1977 ABC stereo LP from one of the best groups of the era. Housed in a glossy laminated gatefold cover complete with a custom lyric/credit inner sleeve. The personnel consisted of Donald Fagen (lead vocals & synthesizer & Walter Becker (bass & various guitars) accompanied by some of the top Jazz & Pop session musicians- Chuck Rainey (bass), Joe Sample (clavinet & electric piano), Larry Carlton & Lee Ritenour (guitar), Tom Scott, Wayne Shorter, Jim Horn & Plas Johnson (saxes & flutes) & Jim Keltner, Steve Gadd & Bernard Purdie (drums) Tim Schmidt & Michael McDonald helped out on the backup vocals. Three singles were released from it- "Peg" which went to #11, "Deacon Blues" which climbed to #19 & "Josie" which made it to a respectable #26 in August, 1978. "Aja" was the seventh studio album by Steely Dan & has proven to be one of their strongest & classiest efforts. Perhaps a bit uncompromising & less immediate than their earlier works, it is now considered a classic of the 1970s. The glossy laminated gatefold cover looks great with the only flaws being minor edge wear along the bottom & a 1" split in the middle of the top seam. The record is an original pressing from 1977 w/yellow, pink & lavender ABC labels has has received very few (if any) plays & rates a MINT grading. Complete w/custom inner lyric/credit sleeve printed on heavy white paper in M- condition.
