Description

What It Is: This is a boxed set of the first ten Stiff Records singles, pressed and released in the UK in 1979. This box is part of the 2nd pressing (the first was in 1978). Details of the differences between this and the previous issue are described below. The exact number of boxes in this pressing is thought to be less than 5000. This box is # 1692. The Motorhead single included in this box is exclusive to this box set. The condition of the box cover is VG+ with rubbing an all four corners, light creasing with cracks in the ink, and a couple of bumps.  Condition of the sleeves and disks are (sleeve/disk): Buy 1: Nick Lowe: So It Goes/Heart of the City -- M-/M- Buy 2: The Pink Fairies: Between the Lines/Spoiling for a Fight --  VG++/M-     (slight ringwear) Buy 3: Roogalator: All Aboard/Cincinatti Fat Back --  M-/M- Buy 4: Tyla Gang: Styrofoam/Texas Chainsaw Massacre --  M-/M-   Buy 5: Lew Lewis and His Band: Boogie on the Straight/Caravan Man --  M-/M- Buy 6: The Damned: New Rose/Help --  M-/M- Buy 7: Richard Hell: Another World/Blank Generation, You Gotta Lose --  VG++/M-   (light creasing) Buy 8: Plummet Airlines: Silver Shirt/This is the World --  M-/M- Buy 9: Motorhead: Leavin' Here/White Line Fever (the single was not released outside this box) --  VG++/M-  (light creasing at top) Buy 10: The Damned: Neat Neat Neat/Stab Your Back, Singalongascabies --  M-/M-
Differences between first issue and this (second issue) set: Issue 2 is numbered, whereas issue 1 was not. Issue 2 does not include an info sheet. Issue 1 does (sheet lists the records with a description of each). Issue 2 has 'Made in England' on the back of the box and on the record labels. Issue 1 does not have this information. Issue 2 has curved cut-outs on the sleeves, whereas issue 1 has the straight cut-outs. The Richard Hell record (BUY 7) is numbered 0001 in all second issue sets, but is stamped with an actually number (above 5000) in issue 1 sets. The sleeves in issue 2 are thicker (the records fill up the box), whereas issue 1 has noticeably thinner sleeves, making the box look 'not quite full'.

Grading:

All items are visually graded, and if they've been play graded that will be noted (in this case, the album has never been opened). I follow Goldmine grading standards. My grading is conservative, at least as good as I would expect from anyone that I would buy from.

Payment:

I accept PayPal. If you must return the item, it must be in the same condition that I sent it, but I will refund your full purchase price and return shipping cost within the USA (outside of the USA, I'll refund the bid price, but you must pay for return shipping unless I've made a serious error, in which case I'll pay shipping too) -- I guarantee your satisfaction.

Shipping cost and Insurance:

Within the USA: I ship via the US Postal Service, priority and media mail. Costs are based on the shipping weight and package size. Please contact me for shipping to other locations. As always, if your winning bid is above $50, I will pay for insurance within the USA.

Outside of the USA:I now use eBay Global Shipping for all international shipments -- it avoids headaches for both buyer and seller.

Thanks for bidding!
