Original Classic Records pressing on 180 gram vinyl. Out of print and growing harder and harder to find, the 180g versions are preferred by collectors over the later 200 gram pressings. Original 1954 "Shaded Dog" Living Stereo release.
Record is new and still sealed in it's original plastic sleeve. Perforation is completely intact. There are no flaws or imperfections... 100% MINT.
Review: Ein Heldenleben was recorded on March 8th 1954 with the same experimental two-microphone set-up used by Jack Pfeiffer to produce the now legendary "Living Stereo" sound. The magnitude of this Ein Heldenleben recording is every bit as impressive as that of Reiner‚Äôs Zarathustra. For the first time ever, the mono LM 1807 version is available from Classic Records, as it was originally intended. 
Excerpt from Liner Notes: "According to the composer (Ein Heldenleben) was written as a companion work to Don Quixote, which had been created the preceding year. While the Quixote music, however, deals with the tragic-comic episodes of Cervantes' celebrated knight, Heldenleben underscores the figure of an average man, whose heroism lies in his triumph over the inward battles of life."
