Sun Ra-Jazz By Sun Ra (Transition trlp-10) Cover is VG due to 9” top and 1-and-a-half inch bottom seam splits. It looks fantastic otherwise, almost no wear whatsoever, and with the original “album notes inside” sticker intact on the back cover. Record is a strong VG, some crackle in places but plays very close to VG+ for the most part....incredible sound & presence compared to later issues. Like all Transitions it’s a styrene press so these usually turn up with the grooves sounding very burnt and fuzzy, but that‘s not the case with this copy. Also like most Transitions one of the labels has fallen off (the other is still attached), but it’s still here so you can glue it back on if you like. Best of all this has the original booklet in fantastic shape, filled with pictures, interviews, and some of Ra’s inimitable poetry. All in all a fine 1956 original copy of Sun Ra’s very first LP!
