Explanation of Vinyl Grading:

Mint: I don’t use this grade.

Near-Mint (NM): This record will look new or very close to it.

Near-Mint-Minus (NM-): Very close to NM but with a few very light marks.

Very-Good-Plus (VG+): This record will have more marks than NM-, but still very light.

Very Good (VG): This record will have several light scratches/scuffs, but should still play fine.

Very-Good-Minus (VG-): This record will have either more marks than VG, or deeper scratches, but not both.

Good+: Scratches/scuffs will be both more numerous and deeper compared to VG. No gouges. This record should definitely play through without skipping.

Good: A little worse than Good+, but should still play without skipping.

Good-: This record will have at least one more-serious scratch or other flaw. Usually this is a record with a lot of light to moderate scratches/scuffs, but sometimes it means a record that is very nice overall, with one bad scratch. This record will probably still play without skipping, except in the case of a record in excellent condition with one deep scratch, which may skip at that one spot.

Acceptable or Poor: These records have more serious flaws. I usually don’t list records in this condition unless they are unusual or hard-to-find. Sometimes I will list one if the jacket is in especially nice condition and I think someone might want it just for that.

Explanation of Jacket Grading:

NM: Very close to new-looking.

VG: Scuffing and possibly minor splitting of seams.

Good: One or more seams will be splitting, and jacket will show more wear.

Acceptable: In need of repair.

Poor: Probably beyond repair.

Please Note: All my records are visually inspected in bright sunlight, but not play-graded. Because of this, I try to grade conservatively. (Check my feedback to see my happy buyers!) If you buy a record and the grade is obviously wrong, please let me know before you leave feedback. Most problems can be worked out, and I am always happy to take a record back if I have made a error. (It does happen occasionally.) Grading is subjective, of course, but I try to be consistent. Happy shopping!
