Description

SURMAN-PHILLIPS-MARTIN The Trio (Dawn DNLS 3006) RARE UK 1st Pressing MINT-
RARE first UK pressing of John Surman`s album with Barre Phillips and Stu Martin, "The Trio" on Dawn Records (c. October 1969).
The Trio is John Surman on reeds, Barre Phillips on bass, Stu Martin on drums. Challenging music from the Ornette Coleman school of free music, but never  inaccessible. Not a recording for the casual jazz listener though, but very much something for the adventurous jazz lover.

- Original first-pressing dark orange Dawn Records labels with a single light spindle line on each side.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "DNLS 3006 C-2 ?T" and "DNLS 3006 D-1 ?T", indicating a first UK pressing.

- This record is fully certified to be an original UK first pressing of "The Trio", released in c. October 1969.

You will NOT find another original first pressing of "The Trio" as nice as this one - especially at this bargain price: "True value for money" is the motto here!
