Description
Original issue of Shirley Collins’ first LP of love songs and ballads from Southern England, accompanied on banjo and guitar. Argo mono LP with blue label, issued 1959. Laminated picture sleeve in generally excellent condition, minor creasing and a couple of small spots where laminate has lifted, slight wear to corners, back clean with slight yellowing, no labels or marking. Disc in exceptional condition with pristine unmarked surfaces, no hairlines or signs of visible wear of any kind. Clean bright unmarked labels, lightest spindle marking only. Plays through extremely well with very good fidelity to voice and instruments, very light background noise, no significant problems. This must be one of the finest remaining examples of this historically important and very hard to find LP, difficult to imagine that a better one could be found after 52 years. My own record since 2007, offered without reserve.
