THE SWINGING BLUE JEANS- "DON'T MAKE ME OVER"
SUPER RARE 1966 CAPITOL OF CANADA MONO LP IN STRONG VG+ TO VG++ CONDITION!
This is certainly one of the rarest and most desirable of all British Invasion albums and nearly impossible to find in such great condition. This LP was released in mid 1966 as part of the highly collectable Capitol of Canada "6000 Series". This series included most of the big British bands of the Sixties and most were unique to Canada releases such as this title. The story behind this LP is that it was released to stores for an extremely short time as Capitol decided to recall it. They felt that the cover art was too cheesy for 1966 and the album stiffed as most young record buyers were turning their attention to the more experimental and psychedelic sounds that were making their way to Canada from England and the USA. All copies were returned and then destroyed! This explains why it is the rarest and hardest to find of all the Capitol 6000 series releases. I have tried to grade it very conservatively and included pictures of all visible wear so please bid with confidence! This copy is in great sounding condition and it would be a fantastic addition to any serious British Invasion/Capitol of Canada 6000 collection. Good luck!
Capitol Records T 6159 1966 Canadian mono issue LP
GRADING:
COVER: Strong VG+ with light ringwear in places and minor age wear. White back liner shows some ringwear and light yellowing. There is light corner wear and a small ding on the top left corner. All seams are intact with no splits or tears. Still very clean with no writing or stickers.
RECORD: Visual: VG++ with light sleeve scuffs and minor handling wear. Still looks great with lots of gloss and shine! Play grade: Strong VG+ to VG++ with occasional light background noise mostly only in the dead wax between tracks. Still plays and sounds great with no skips or jumps during the songs.
LABELS: VG++ with very light wear and light spindle marks and minor spindle hole wear. No writing or stickers.
Overall, this is a fantastic sounding and investment quality copy of this very hard to find Canadian release that needs a loving home in your LP collection!
