SMETANA – MA VLAST – KUBELIK & THE V.P.O (2 x LP)
One of the most highly sought after and rarest of the Decca wide band releases. Early stereo recording at it’s best. The definitive recording of Ma Vlast on the first edition Decca Wide Band grooved label. The record has been fully play tested and grades as EX (see below for more details).

SLEEVES
EX/EX-
Sleeve 1 (Housing record 1; sides 1 & 4) – Sleeve 1 is in truly fantastic condition. There are no splits, tears or shelf wear. The front is clean and free from any indentations. The un-laminated back is clean and free from any staining. The flipbacks are solid and remain steadfastly affixed. There is some slight ringwear to both the front and back of the sleeve and some slight creasing of the laminate. The ringwear is not of the sort that denotes damage to the sleeve but rather the record has left an impression on the sleeve. Both sleeves suffer from a strange effect where the dark portions of the sleeve show some fading.
Sleeve 2 (Housing record 2; sides 2 & 3) – Sleeve 2 is in similar condition to the above, the only difference (and reason for the downgrading) being that there is a split in the bottom, left hand, flipback. This split does not extend to the front of the sleeve.

A few light spindle marks but nothing of note. No fading or damage to the labels.

Record 1 – Visually the record looks absolutely beautiful (NM). There is one very light mark at the end of side 1 that can only be seen under bright light. This is NOT a scratch but rather a single scuff mark. There is some very slight background noise noticeable during the opening passage. This does not sound like groove wear and is NOT of the ‘frying type’ just very low and ambient. I doubt that you will ever find better than this.
Record 2 – Similar in appearance to record 1 with only a scant few scuff type marks that are NOT scratches and can only be viewed under bright light. Plays absolutely beautifully throughout with just the occasional light click or crackle. Listening to these records was a sheer delight, due to both the exceptional quality of the media and of the recording. Sublime.
