NM  LP/ NM-cover

OK, so it is a UK COVER, but the  stampers that made this were sent from Decca UK to AUSTRALIA to make this wide Band orange label PRESSING on 167gm vinyl, in 1970, which is actually heavier than the ED3 1st issue from the UK at around 150gm vinyl.  AND unlike UK pressings, I have YET to see a pressing fault in any australian SXLA, yet I find pressing faults in UK issues ALL the time. and somehow the UK deccas always get the accolades for QUALITY (??)

Here is a sound sample of about 6 mins of the second track , side 2, (my favorite) Unfortunately your tinny computer speaker and the poor sampling rate of my turntable (192kbps) is NOT going to display the *AS list potential quality, but TURN up the SOUND and listen while you read on.  After a short break, the sample then is of side 1 track 1, the remainder of 8 minute 25 second sound sample is that section

This is a special and fabulous LP. In fact, this is the very first record that actually joined The Supreme Recordings list. There are a wide variety of pressings and I have heard all of them, but not at the same time, so I can't make a definitive ranking, yet.

I do know for certain that the earliest English pressings and the (recent non-Japanese) King Super Analogue are the two worst of the bunch, with the earliest English also being the most expensive of them all. However, any pressing of this recording, including the still available Alto, is at least excellent and most desirable. I have known a number of (usually rational) people who became almost obsessed with this record.

There was once a time (during the early 1990's) when I could state that this was "the best sounding orchestral LP" I had ever heard. The sonics are superb in every way; naturalness, transparency, cleanness and dynamically. It was not an accident that this was the very first record placed and described on this list back in January 2000, because this LP is so incredible, desirable and it is "mucho fun" to listen to, regardless of musical tastes. "

My item Australian pressed  Original ZAL stamper numbers from 1st issue WB UK pressing, just happens to be pressed in Australia, and it is Very Good !!. Other than the previous WRC edition already sold, I have sold a Crackly original UK pressing, and this is cleaner, although the dynamics comparison I can not give you as I sold the UK copy long  before this turned up (rats!!) Your tinny speakers, and my treble biased sampling are never gonna give you the effect that driving bass thump you can hear in the repeat theme near commencement and near conclusion, AWESOME !

NOT TAS listed (THE ABSOLUTE SOUND list of 'worthy recordings' you must have or at least listen to) Often quoted as being there, but I can't find it in the list. 

Rarely ever seen in Australia and without having to read my more elaborate report,

 (Visually, very  CLEAN, NM , no sign of wear damage in FULL replay,)    LP test played after wet wash .

This really is impressive, to listen to, I and my sound system and probably several neighbors were captivated/annoyed, depending whether you were me or a neighbour!!
 

This is the Highly sought after recording played by the New Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Rafael De Burgos.

LP Condition (see photo's) NM .I am listening to it to test play as I write this listing.  Only a few very light crackles or tics, and they are just pressing residues I think, as some have come off after a deep groove cleaner was applied  beautiful, like new gloss on the vinyl. 

NO Rotational spindle marks, indications are this may have never been played until I tested it  Original all plastic sleeve is undamaged, but MFSL ANTI scratch/static sleeve included, to help preserve current condition
