Description

This is Savoy Records MG 14004, Sam (Sammy) Price - Rock, a red label original (deep groove?*) mono issue of this wonderful but quite obscure R 'n B flavored session featuring King Curtis and either Mickey Baker or Kenny Burrell. The record has RVG etched in the dead wax. The record is in near mint condition showing almost no signs of wear and playing quietly throughout. The laminated cover has a bumps on each corner but is otherwise excellent and intact. The labels are excellent. A superb collector's grade copy of this rare record. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12. This is part of a large Jazz record collection I will be listing over the next few months. Please check our other listings. * Although there is an indentation around the labels that could be a deep groove, it is not the usual 1/16" width. So although I want to point it out, I did not use DG in the heading and use a ( ) and ? when mentioning it.
