Description

This item is an original "Savage Young Beatles" BM-69 LP with Tony Sheridan. I bought this new in mid-1960s (1965 I think) in Burlington, Vermont (Gaynes Shopper's World). I was 12 or 13 yrs old at the time & truthfully I was disappointed as I expected this was a new Beatles album, not old recordings (hey I was young and we didn't have Google back then). I did play it a lot & the tunes wore on me (Cry for a Shadow...a Harrison-Lennon written instrumental!). The record has scratches & pops but it does play. In fact I played it just before I listed it here & converted the recordings to .wav & mp3 files. I didn't detect any skips (needle weight at 3.5gms). Long ago I wrote my name on the record sleeve & also on the record label (see photos). My understanding is that this is a rare vintage record; that The Beatles with Pete Best as drummer played on 4 of the 8 tracks. I've owned it for almost 50 years & it's time to let it go. The vinyl record is thick & heavy (weight 177 grams on my scales). If you have any questions or require additional photos, please let me know. I've got a high buy-it-now price but will consider all offers. Shipping to Paypal verified address only. Free shipping applies to US address only. Interesting article regarding this LP release, the 2 versions; orange cover/yellow label & yellow cover/orange label. The orange cover/yellow label like the one listed in this auction being far more rare according to the website info. The website also gives several tips on identifying fakes, of which there are many.
