Description
OK so a bunch of years ago me and my friend Sean put out this record. We were just a little rinky dink label putting out a band that was on the verge of getting big. We did a small run of this ep on vinyl and we had a great time doing it. We had put out a bunch of 7"s already and did a lot of handmade touches on most of them. One record has silk screened, a strip of duct tape was put on, two pictures were pasted on, and then some stamps were put on the inside cover. We went pretty crazy with this release too. Two color cover-black and orange, blue, green, etc. Then we cut out the butterfly design by hand. It took a lot of time. It wasn't something we did to make money, it was a labor of love, usually in the dark hours of the night after we had worked our other jobs. This here is a misprint and it pretty much is. Every silkscreened cover is just a little bit different. That's part of what makes them so awesome. This is what happens when you try and print too many silkscreens without taking a break and cleaning your screens out. When you're silkscreening you're pushing ink out through these tiny holes. We used inks that dry in the air and so basically we kept printing while the ink dried in the holes. At first it can make some really cool effects. Like the holes are so small that you almost don't see them and it just makes the color look like a lighter hue. Here, so little ink was going through that it almost looks like an albino butterfly. One picture is taken with a flash so it does indeed look like a white butterfly but I took some up close shots and hopefully you can see the little bit of orange that's there. It almost looks like it was put on with a sponge. It's never been played. I don't even know how many can be slightly messed up like this. I kept the ones I thought looked cool. There must be more that have this faded look but I'm pretty sure this must have been the most faded one. The vinyl is white. Pretty much pure white. I'll be putting up some other rare copies shortly.
