Description
Savoy Brown - Hellbound Train - Very Good Condition Stereo TXS 107 with First Press Matrix SAHS-1616.P-1W and 2W You are looking at the 1972 Savoy Brown album Hellbound Train. The gatefold album cover opens out to reveal a black and white cartoon illustration by the artist David Anstey, as shown in the photographs. The sleeve has two openings but is a single album. The cover illustrations are a great interpretation of the album title. The album cover is worn around the edges and there is ring wear from storage over the years. The spine shows signs of wear too but the title, artist and Decca TXS 107 are still clearly visible. There are no stickers, marks, writing, rips or tears on the outer sides of the cover. When the cover is open there is a squiggle in black marker in the top left hand cover (right hand panel) which is visible in the forth photo. The original inner plastic lined sleeve is intacted but shows signs of yellowing with age. On to the the record itself, both green Decca labels are in great condition with only slight signs of spindle wear. The Decca 1st Press Matrix numbers end 1W and 2W and are visible on inspection. There are very light surface scratches with no major damage or warping to be seen on the vinyl areas on either side of this album. The record plays with no jumps or major noise interference such as pops or clicks, just very minor back ground noise you associate with playing a piece of vinyl, especially one that's 45 years old and I think it still sounds great after all these years. I'm selling my small record collection so other albums will be listed in the coming days. The record will be securely packaged and sent by 2nd class signed for delivery.
