Description
This listing is for the Blues LP "Screamin' Jay Hawkins with Washboard Doc's Trio and Nat Riddles" also known as "The Art of Screamin' Jay Hawkins", released in 1988 from Spivey Records. Its record number is 1036. I have listened to the record, and it does not skip on my record player, but all record players have different sensitivity.
Condition:
Jacket: The most noticeable flaw is that there is a tear on the upper right side of the record cover, which came from removing a price sticker when I first bought it over ten years ago. The pictures show this tear, which tears off the black of the cover and reveals the brown and the white cardboard underneath. All the corners of the sleeve are bent, some worse than others, and there are creases throughout the edges of the jacket. There are some light scrapes down the front of the jacket too. The record sleeve is just a blank sleeve. This is just a note on how it was manufactured: The cover isn't one solid block, the front and back photos are on paper that has been pasted to the cardboard sleeve. This is not exclusive to my copy.
Record: When listening to it, side one has some crackle to it, at times, on my player. I don't know if that was from my record, or just how it was recorded. Side 2 sounded fine on my player. Side 1 has a small upraised bump in the vinyl on track 3, side 2 has two scratches, one of which stretches across most of the record, but both are too light to affect anything on my record player. Your mileage may vary. As you can see from the pictures, side one of the record label wasn't printed completely right, with evidence of the label being stamped sort of sideways, but lighter, than the correct stamp, side 2 looks okay. The hole in the center of the record has some wear around it on side one. This can be seen in the pictures.
