Description

A set of two very rare 12" 78's containing highlights from a 1939 Screen Guild Show performance in Hollywood. Notably, it includes an extended appearance by Judy Garland less than a month after the premiere of the Wizard of Oz. Other guests are Cary Grant, Mickey Rooney and Ann Southern. There's lots of kibbitzing and a few musical numbers, including a rare live version of God's Country with Judy Garland, and a jaunty instrumental of the Ding Dong the Witch Is Dead. Unfortunately, the set is incomplete: according to the labels, this is parts 2, 3, 5 and 6. Both discs are VG+ to EX and play beautifully with some hiss.
