For sale is The Beach Boys' Surfin' Safari released by Capitol Records in 1962. It has the original black label with the color-band around the outside and the Capitol logo on the top. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers D-1/D-1, indicating a very early stamper was used to make this first edition, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. On guitar is David Marks, a neighbor of the Wilson Brothers, who doesn't appear on other Beach Boy releases. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve.I'm grading the cover as Very Good because the bottom of the jacket has a 4" seam split with tiny tears, corner blunts, and ink writing on the upper right hand corner of the cover (says $3.00). The colors are still bright and glossy. The vinyl is visually graded as VG+ because of some slight sleeve marks and faint surface scratches. I'm play grading this between VG+ and Excellent because of occasional low level surface noise, most noticeable in the quiet sections of playback, especially between the tracks and in the dead wax. This is still one of the best copies of this rare album that I have ever seen or heard. You would be hard pressed to find an original one in this condition ever again. I have more Rock and Roll records, as well as albums of all genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They are mostly Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing.  I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
