Played from start to finish - no skips, no jumps. Light surface marks - nothing that affects play. Yellow/brown discolouration on back sleeve.  Tape residue. VG/VG.

"He was born in Manguito, a small town in the province of Matanzas , in a humble family, his first encounter with music was through a phonograph at home where he listened to recordings of the Septeto Habanero.

He received his first lessons on the Cuban tres from a very young age with Sabino Peñalver. At the end of the thirties, he integrated various musical groups in Matanzas. As a teenager he performed in the Los Hermanos Valladares Orchestra, where Pérez Prado occasionally came to reinforce the Orchestra in the village festivals. Already by this time composes his first songs.

He moved to Havana , where he survived to work as a dental technician, an errand man, a fruit seller, and in an autodidact way he learns to play the guitar, not to mention the tres. At that time he integrated several groups of small format, being awarded with one of these the first prize in a popular radio program... .Later, with Luisito Pla, he joined the trio "Luisito Pla y sus guaracheros" playing tres for a period of three years. Later with the presence of Tony Tejera and Gerardo Pedroso they form the trio Caonabo and next it constitutes the "Conjunto Colonial" along with the singer Nelo Sosa and the pianist Carlos Faxa among other musicians. With this group 20 works were recorded in the PANART, purpose that had to be constituted and later disintegrated.

Between 1958 and 1959 he formed a new format and began to play the electric guitar. He also performed in the most prestigious and prestigious venues of the night in Havana, accompanied by artists such as La Lupe , Paulina Álvarez and others. By this time, many musicians opted for jazz, but Senén followed his then-referent "Arsenio Rodríguez ", although to fit the demand of the audience included drummer, tumbadora, piano and other singer, in order to be able to assume a greater variety of genders.

After the triumph of the revolution, Senén and his combo remain active in the Red Room of the Capri and in the Network. Portillo Scull begins as a singer and among the themes that make popular the "Canta Lo Sentimental" by the author Urbano Gómez Montiel. In 1967, participates in the international exhibition of Canada, reaping great acceptance of the public, in addition to an extension in the initially agreed stay. Upon his return, he develops a series of his own instrumental and versions of internationally popular themes of the time, fused with Cuban and Caribbean rhythms, an initiative that was both well received and criticized by the extremists of the time.

In turn, Senén participates in different programs of radio and television with frequent frequency. In the following years the combo of Senén Suárez is included in several artistic embassies by the world, taking the Cuban music to countries like Canada , Indonesia , Angola , USSR , Nicaragua , Granada and Guinea .

He remains musically active until 1988, although he is still invited to different radio and television programs as a participant in the history of Cuban music."

All records are strictly graded. Sleeves are graded first followed by the vinyl. Example: EX/VG. I have used both the Record Collector  and Goldmine magazines standards to grade my records. Where indicated records are play graded (especially those of higher value) otherwise they are inspected under a strong light. 

Pre-revolution labels like Panart, Puchito,Seeco, Duarte,Velvet Records and others from the 1950's as well as the post-revolution 1960's EGREM records were pressed using thick vinyl and generally will sound better than the 1970's and later Areito recordings. The pre-revolution records will often play better than they look.

M= Mint: refers to a brand new unplayed vinyl record.

NM = Near Mint: Record played only a few times with care. May have a few light marks when examined under a bright light otherwise appears new.

EX = Excellent: The record has some signs of being played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging may have slight wear and/or small creasing. EX(-) is somewhere between VG and EX. A record with an EX(+) grade can be described as better than EX but not quite Near Mint.

VG = Very Good. The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and light scratches. Normal wear on the cover or extra items without any major defects is acceptable. VG(-) signifies a record has more surface noise as well as visual marking than a VG while VG(+) is not quite in the EX category.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated and a lot of surface noise can be heard. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, ring wear, spine splits, discolouration, etc. 

FAIR: The record is only just playable and has not been taken care of. There is considerable surface that impacts on the playback, The record may jump or skip. The cover and contents will be torn, stained, water damaged and/or defaced.

Poor: The record will not play properly and skip and/or jump throughout many tracks. The cover will be badly damaged and/or partly mussing.

Bad: The record is unplayable and may be broken. This type of record is used only as a collection filler and I will only sell such a record if it is extremely rare to obtain.
