Description
This is the rare first pressing of the Sex Pistols ANARCHY IN THE U.K / I WANNA BE ME. 1976. This is one of the first few thousand pressings which was labelled incorrectly, crediting Chris Thomas as producer of the B side. This was corrected to Dave Goodman on later releases.
The "FACTORY SAMPLE / NOT FOR SALE" sticker is also present on this record. Only a few of the first pressing were stickered in this way.
EMI 2566 A-1 on the A side runout. Plus an "R".
EMI 2566 B-2 on the B side runout. Plus an "R X"
The all black sleeve is present and complete.
CONDITION
Disk.
The A side is MINT
The B side has a "slushy" sounding spot on the outer edge affecting the runin and only the first 2 or 3 revolutions on I WANNA BE ME, then vanishes completely. There is a visible rub mark there--maybe 1/8 inch long and mostly on the runin. Otherwise MINT. So maybe NM on balance.
Sleeve.
It did its job to protect the disk. No creases, a few disk marks.
NOTE
I am the original owner of this. So know it has been handled and stored carefully. Sorry about the slushy mark but we will discount it accordingly to be fair to the purchaser.
