Description
Original UK mono pressing of Sounds Of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel on CBS, catalogue number BPG 62690, matrix 62690-A4.
A lovely vintage 1960s copy and complete with the original orange CBS company inner sleeve / advertising insert, featuring period artist listings including Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Miles Davis and others. Inner sleeve is fully intact with only light age-related crinkling to some corners.
The outer sleeve is in VG+ condition for its age, with light storage wear to corners and a small amount of ring wear, but no seam splits or tears. Also includes the original Boots High Street Nottingham shop sticker on the reverse, which is a nice period detail.
Vinyl graded VG+ (excellent for age, play-tested)
Plays very well throughout with occasional light background crackle and the odd isolated click in places, consistent with the age of an original 1960s pressing. This does not overpower the music and remains a very enjoyable listen.
A strong and honest collector’s copy of this classic mono original.
