"Sounds of Silence" (1965) White label promo
The very rare promotional pressing of Simon and Garfunkel's second LP. This 1st pressing copy was made for distribution to reviewers and radio stations and is far more difficult to find than standard mono copies. Has the original timing strip at the bottom of the front cover (which is the rare original cover with the album title in BLUE and no song titles printed on the front, plus no song titles, times or publishing information in the box at the bottom of the back cover). This copy has matrix numbers that end in -1C for both sides.
Cover VG-
No writing, but there is clear tape on the bottom seam and on the spine and the remnants of a sticker that was removed from the top-left corner of the timing strip on the front cover (please see picture). There is also some light ringwear on the front (most noticeably at the top) and some rubwear and light discoloration on the back.
Vinyl VG-
Both sides have many surface marks and light scuffs. I don't see any deep gouges, but this definitely looks like a used record. There is a blue "X" at the right side on Side 2's label. Comes in a plastic-lined inner sleeve. (This was sold to me as being in "VG" condition, but I don't think it quite qualifies, so I graded it down.)

Domestic Postage - $4 for Media Mail (with delivery confirmation) for LPs, $1 for each additional LP. $3 for 1st class (with delivery confirmation) for 45s, $.50 for each additional 45 (or to ship each 45 with an LP). Insurance and Priority Mail shipping are available by request.
International Postage - Varies by location. Insurance and Priority Mail shipping are available by request. Multiple purchases will be shipped together at cost. I pack well, so I cannot be held responsible if the postal service damages an uninsured item. Due to some bad experiences last year, I can only ship to Italy or Russia using Registered Mail. If you are from one of these countries and need a shipping quote, please email me before bidding.
ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS - Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying.
Payment
Payment is expected within a week of winning the auction via PayPal.
Grading
All grading is done visually. If you need me to play-test a specific track, please email me. I try to grade conservatively in the hopes that what you receive will meet (or hopefully exceed) your expectations. I use the following grades:
NM, EX, VG, G. A + (plus) after the grade signifies slightly better condition than the grade and a - (minus) signifies slightly worse condition than the grade. I try to include a more detailed description after the grades, so please be sure to read that section carefully to get a better idea of the condition of the item.
Returns
I try to be very thorough in my descriptions, but if you find a record to not be as described, I will accept returns up to 7 days after delivery. Please contact me first and let me know the reason for the return. Refunds given only on the cost of the item, not on shipping charges.
