Listed here are 3 Simple Minds Vinyl Album releases/reissues from 1982 all on the Virgin record label. “Real To Real Cacophony” / “Empires And Dance” and the Compilation “Celebration”. Please see below and note from the images that the sleeves are not in perfect condition, nor are the inner sleeves.
Real To Real Cacophony OVED124 is a 1982 re-issue of the original album, on the run out grooves on both sides as well as OVED124 it also shows V2246 (which is scratched out!). Play tested with the only noticeable thing being a slight crackle on the intro to “Factory” and a bit at the end of “Premonition”
Empires And Dance V2247 is a 1982 re-issue of the original album, the run out grooves on the b-side show V22347 with the 3 crossed out. Not sure if this makes it rarer or not?. Play tested and there is a very small amount of crackling at the very end of “Celebrate” and the very end of “Twist/Run/Repulsion” with possibly a tiny skip before “30 Frames A Second” starts and a slight crackle at the end of “Kant-Kino” and a small amount of surface noise at the end of “Room”. The sleeve also has a few markings on it.
Celebration V2248 is a compilation of early tracks taken from the above 2 albums and the debut “Life In A Day” album which contributes “Life In A Day” and “Chelsea Girl” to this compilation. No noticeable issues during playback.
