Description
This is unquestionably one of the rarest records from South Africa . My name is Benjy Mudie, the executive producer of the album and this is my personal copy. In early 1979 I was a young A&R guy at WEA Records in Johannesburg,South Africa and decided to capture the emerging punk and garage new wave bands that were causing waves and controversy in apartheid era South Africa. I gathered together six of the best artists of the time including the seminal Durban punk pioneers Wild Youth, Corporal Punishment, all girl punk outfit Leopard as well as Cape Town' Safari Suits,all of whom have two songs each plus a song each from banned revolutionary rocker Roger Lucey and Bill Flynn. Only 300 copies of the album were pressed and copies in this condition are extremely rare. Other than their limited release singles this is the only time that Wild Youth appeared on vinyl and on an LP. Vinyl is in EX condition and has only been played twice, sleeve has some creases and light ring mark plus some scuffing around the edges, spine is perfectly legible- graded VG+.
