Yes, I'm working my way through my Blue Horizon LPs to sell so here is another sweet offering.
Great example of this original 1971 'Made In England' Blue Horizon 2431 013 LP in mono by the influential but short lived Slim Harpo.
As I always report, these BH non-laminated thinnish card covers are susceptible to grubbiness and edge wear over the years and this is no exception. But overall it's in good form; there are no seam splits, rips, sticker tears or writing, the mouth is good and the corners are square albeit with the aforementioned wear including the spine. Typically the cover has ringwear and a modicum of creasing. But yet again it's an intact solid example and condition wise I rate it 8/10.
For the record itself the machine etched matrix numbers around the run-offs (at various spacings) are 04 2431013 A//#420 11 2 for side A and respectively 04 2431013 B//#420 11 1 for side B but note the # is really an inverted triangle! The photos show how clean the white labels are and from the signs of spindle tracking at the holes I reckon you can count the number of plays on the fingers of one hand but you wouldn't need them all. And this is evidenced by the vinyl pressing whisker at the hole which is often seen from new and soon lost after several fresh spins.
The vinyl is flat and shiny and by window light looks handsome. But the ever patient and unrelenting table light shows storage scuffs on the angled disc which as always to be expected seeing the plastic has lived in its' inner sleeve for the past 46 years. As such I rate the vinyl 8/10 for condition or EXC in record grading terms.
The inner sleeve is the original polythene lined UK issue and is dated 12 71. Is in great intact shape but has the ubiquitous age related browning. Again, I'll transport the record in it's sleeve outside the cover to avoid 'knifing' the latter and pack well.
