Slowdive – Pygmalion on Vinyl.
Catalogue number – CRELP168
Released on Creation Records in 1995.
This is the 3rd and last Slowdive LP.
This album is the rarest Slowdive album on vinyl.
For Slowdive fans, this album needs no introduction. For those of you who haven’t heard it, this is quite a radical departure from the previous 2 records. Their most ambitious record, incorporating ambient song structures, electronic loops whilst maintaining an organic charm that is all their own.
Neil Halstead definitely took the lead with this album and all of the compositions are his own, with only 2 being co written with Rachel Goswell.
I have just listened to the album again to check the condition and it is still as captivating today as it was on release.
Condition –
Sleeve – Near Mint. The matt cover is unmarked but cannot be described as mint as it doesn’t look brand new. There are no specific creases or signs of wear. The matt material just doesn’t remain as fresh as a glossy cover does with age.
The black and white inner sleeve is again in near mint condition with no visible marks.
Record – Excellent. This record is in excellent condition with only a few slight audible crackles on play. Most noticeable is a small scratch on Track 1 which results in approx 5 quiet clicks over a 5 second segment of the track (I am being fussy here because of the value of the record).
This record comes from my personal collection, reluctantly am starting to sell my collection to raise money and make space.
The record will be very well packaged in a record cruciform mailer with stiffeners to maintain the condition in transit.
Postage within the UK is by Special Delivery for full insurance.
For post abroad, it will be Airmail – Royal Mail International Signed for service. I can post this standard Air Mail but that would be at the buyers risk.
