Description
An album originally recorded in 1958 by the great New Orleans blues singer Snooks Eaglin and released as Folklyric LP 107. This is the Arhoolie re-release from 1971, still in (opened) shrink wrap.
Eaglin is joined here by Lucious Bridges and Percy Randolph, and together they create a stunning sonic environment. They produce a remarkable variety of material, ranging from the singular and riveting form of the blues that Eaglin is known for to fascinating group-led songs that sound like ramshackle front-porch experiments. It's an essential album to hear for those converted to the genius of Snooks Eaglin.
The vinyl is in astoundingly good shape, Near Mint and absolutely clean, plays magnificently with little to no surface noise. The jacket is still in shrink wrap -- it's got some wear around the corners but is very intact, no ring wear, no handwriting, no yellowing. The spine is solid and intact, though it is somewhat worn on the bottom couple inches, which doesn't effect the integrity of the jacket in any way.
This record is among several from my collection that I am selling, and like the others I have listed, it has been well-stored in a sealed plastic sleeve, away from moisture and in a smoke-free, temperature controlled environment.
