Description
Rare record - George P. Johnson was the first recorded black artist.
"Whistling Coon" became a huge hit for him - it was pressed to these the first flat disk records.
This record pre-dates 1900 and is the earliest days of recorded sound.
All in All a great copy of this record. No skips and no hangs - usual high noise floor but one of the better copies I have heard.
***Please be aware if you are not used to Berliner records that these do require a larger needle and are quite poor in sound quality to a modern LP - just want to say that in case someone is buying without knowledge of these records.
I am beginning to liquidate my antique collection quite a bit and will run many auctions at low starting prices with no reserves. Check other listing for Black Americana, Music, Photography, etc.
Guaranteed 100% original.
