Description
SOLOMON ILORI "African High Life" (BLUE NOTE 4136, MONO) RARE and GREAT collectible LP WITH THE 43 West 61st St. NEW YORK ADDRESS. THE COVER IS IN VG- CONDITION WITH a 1-1/2-INCH SEAM SPLIT AT THE BOTTOM, A 1-INCH TEAR IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER, AND "CON-14" WRITTEN ON BOTH SIDES (SEE MY SCANS). THERE IS ALSO A 1-1/4-INCH NUMBERED STICKER ON THE BACK SIDE, AND A 1-1/4 INCH "REVIEW COPY" STAMP, AGAIN ON THE BACK SIDE (SEE MY SECOND SCAN). The vinyl on Side 1 is a strong VG+, while on Side 2 it is VG-, with pronounced surface noise at the end of track 2 and the beginning of track 3. Play graded, strict grading. Recorded by the legendary Rudy Van Gelder, of course. Really enjoyed listening to this one, a most unusual blast from the glorious Blue Note past!
