Description
This is MetroJazz Records E 1002, Sonny Rollins And The Big Brass, an orange label, deep groove, original stereo issue featuring Rene Thomas, Henry Grimes and Nat Adderley. The record is in near mint condition showing almost no signs of use, (except for some markings on the inner dead wax on side 1- not touching any of the grooves). There is very occasional light random pops during Sonny's unaccompanied Body & Soul but nothing to interfere with the enjoyment of the record. The sound is bright and luminous throughout. The labels are excellent showing only light spindle marks. The original cover shows a little edge wear and has initials in marker on the back but is otherwise excellent and intact. This is an excellent collector's grade copy of this wonderful piece offered without a reserve price. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12.
