Description
The record has the 47 West 63rd New York 23 address on both side. Deep groove on both sides. The record as the "ear" and "RVG" inscribed in the dead wax. The address 47 West 63rd St at the bottom of the back cover. 6 tracks with leader, Rollins, tenor sax; J.J.Johnson, trombone; Horace Silver, Thelonious Monk, piano; Paul Chambers, bass; Art Blakey, drums.
Cover: VG to VG+ Intact and clean. Some general light wear on the front and back covers from handling. Some wear on the insert edge with a small separation of the lamination, a very small bruise approximately 1" on the back cover along the insert edge and a minor tear line of 3/8" on the front cover( directly opposite of the bruise, with no paper loss). Moderate aging on the back cover.
Record: VG+ Visually shows no wear. There is 1 surface rub mark. Audibly there are several light clicks on Track 1, Side 1. 2 or 3 light clicks at the beginning of track 2, Side 1. Track 3, Side 1 has slight groove noise on 3 or 4 revolutions mid-track as well as some light crackling during the bass solo.
Side 2 has several clicks and some groove noise at the end of Track 3. There are several clicks elsewhere on Side 2.
I have tried as best as possible to detail the surface noise. In general the noise described is light, but audible. However, most of the record plays with no noise and appears to have been handled with care. Audibly checked.
