Description

Blue Note BLP 1558 with 47 West 63rd St. address on both labels; same address at the bottom of the back cover, deep groove, mono. The record has "RVG" and the "ear" inscribed in the dead wax. 6 tracks. Leader, Rollins, tenor sax; J.J.Johnson, trombone; Horace Silver, piano; Tfhelonious Monk added on piano on 2 tracks( 1 track omits Silver and Johnson). Recorded in NY in 1957.

Cover: VG or Better Intact and clean. Minor peeling of the lamination at the insert edge. Light aging on the back cover with a very small tear with paper loss on the top edge of the notes on the back cover. This tear only extends about 1/2" and does not interfere with the notes. Light aging on the back cover with slight soil from ordinary handling. Gloss finished front cover with slight wear from handling.

Record: VG++ to Mint(-) Visually shows no wear,. There are a small number of very light surface brush-like rub marks and 1 or 2 extremely light surface rub marks. Neither effects the sound. The visual appearance of the record is very clean. There is some light groove noise on part of Track 1, Side 2. 2 light clicks elsewhere and barely audible light groove noise on part of Track 3, Side 1. This noise is barely audible. Except for the described condition, no other surface noise. Fine overall condition which I have described in detail. Moderately heavy vinyl pressing. Audibly checked.
