Description
Prestige Bluesville 1058, “Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry at the Second Fret”, from 1962. Original vinyl is DG on one side only and plays at NM with virtually no background sound. The jacket is a strong VG+ with light seamwear, mostly color loss, on parts of all seams. There is no ringwear, and only minor corner wear. Jacket back is clean with one small stain mark near upper right (see scan). This is a live concert in a Philadelphia club and is one of their best intimate live sessions. Songs are “Evil Hearted Me”, “Sick Man”, “Barking Bull Dog” “Spread the News Around”, “Backwater Blues”, “Custard Pie”, “Wholesale Dealin’ Papa”, “Motorcycle Blues”, “Hand in Hand”, and “I Woke Up One Morning and I Could Hardly See”. This is one of a set of original Bluesville LPs from several collections brought together for sale this week on eBay. Most are original DG copies in remarkable condition, and many are in the original shrink wrap. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $18.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
