Item: Main Attraction/Beatfreak/TNT: Live at the Soul All Dayer of The Century

Details: 1987 live recording of two UK Soundsystem Jams at Acton Town Hall and Hammersmith Town Hall on UK reggae label Raiders. Hip Hop Conection writer James McNally recently wrote a full page article about this record in his Ancient Britain Column for HHC. In the article McNally explains how this is one of his best UK albums for its unique sound and for providing a real snapshot into how the live UK rap scene was developing in London in 1987. He goes on to say that internet rumours put this at a 300 press making it a particularly sought after and difficult to find. The cover of the record makes claims to this being Britains first Soul and Hip Hop Sound System Live Recording - making this a must have to sit next to your copy of MOLs Hustlers Convention. 

The soundsystem jam opens to the sound of horns in the audience and a Young Rebel MCs crew Beat Freak cutting it up on the decks. Throughout the recording you get to hear the deejays from the various crews cutting up everything from singing in the rain, my boy lollypop and cartoon sounds over heavy reggae riddims. I have honestly never heard anything that comes close to sounding like this record!!!!.
