ELUSIVE PROGMONSTER!!!STUNNING SONGCRAFT!!!AN INSPIRATION TO MANY SUBSEQUENT TOPACTS!!!IT IS TRULY PERPLEXING WHY SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION DID NOT MAKE THE BIG LEAGUE!!!
!!!!AN EXTREMELY HARD FIND!!! A few hundred were ever pressed of this fantastic prog/psych album. It is hard to understand why this never sold in larger numbers.
Spontaneous Combustion were an English progressive rock power trio, active in the 1970s. The band consisted of Gary Margetts on guitar and lead vocals, his brother Tristiam "Tris" Margetts on bass guitar, and drummer Tony Brock. Spontaneous Combustion released two albums, Spontaneous Combustion and Triad both produced by Greg Lake of Emerson, Lake & Palmer. They disbanded after their second album and the Margetts brothers have gone almost unheard of since.
In all my years this is only the second time I have come across this PROGMONSTER ...Rare ... anyone?? When did you last see this on Ebay??
The musical style is hard to pin down. At times it reminds of Led Zeppelin but more complex structured progressive. T2 also comes to mind as well as early Uriah Heep. Absolutely beautiful compositions and really a lost classic in my humble opinion. This was their second album and they had surely grown in musicality and songcraft.
Sensational sound quality, I have played this through in its entirety and it was a great joy!!! NO skips or jumps. NO clicks or crackle, this is really a stunning heavy glossy jet black vinyl . Inspected under an intense lightsource and angled.
Vinyl: EX. A sensational find!!! I have played this in FULL twice over> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more detailed observation. There are NO jumps NO skips NO sticks. A small mark on track 3 that produces a few light ticks, not at all intrusive. Otherwise the audio is simply stunning. I am very glad to be able to report that this is a fine slab of glossy vinyl and as such worthy of inclusion of any great prog collection.
Sleeve: VG++. Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. This is a die-cut sleeve. Slight ring and corner wear.
This is a great investment opportunity!!! This album is hardly ever auctioned at all!!
This is a great and seriously collectable super album!!
Labels: NM!!! Unbelievable!! Still like it was bought all those years ago.
Important : International Postage. This will be sent via Signed For service if over GBP 41.00 Packaging will be thorough and the disc separated from the sleeve to prevent scything.
